Alinta's Commitment to the Community
At Alinta, we're proud to be Official Community Development Partner of the Fremantle Football Club and a Platinum sponsor.
In addition to being a sponsor of the Dockers since the club's inception, we're committed to supporting the Western Australian community through a range of initiatives which focus on the children and families of our state.
In the Name of Fun: Community Development Programme
The Community Development Programme uses Australian Rules Football as a vehicle to help children develop life skills and values. The programme incorporates:
- Fun - A strong focus of the programme is the importance of making time for recreation and enjoyment. The main aim is having fun!
- Fitness - Promoting health and fitness in children and getting them involved in sport for life is central to the Community Development Programme.
- Friendship - The programme teaches children how to be team players and how to work with others - skills which will help them succeed in all aspects of their lives.
- Family - It's not just about the kids! We encourage families and local sports clubs to be actively involved in the Community Development Programme.
The Community Development Programme includes:
- The Johnny 'the Doc' Motor Skills Programme which visits Year 1 and 2 classes and uses simple and fun play activities to promote basic motor, communication and social skills.
- The Freo Factor programme is designed to use the Fremantle Football Club's resources and player expertise to assist students in making informed decisions for a responsible, healthy and active lifestyle.
- The Skills4Schools programme includes the Freo Long Bomb and Freo Kwik Kick competitions where primary and secondary schools take part in a fun competition to kick the ball as far and as fast as they can.
- Welcome to the AFL, which is designed to introduce and engage new participants to AFL.
